Welcome. I’m Luke, and I’m truly glad you’re here.

This page is built with the help of my family. My wife, Jeni, helps with posts, cooks, and keeps me grounded when my grill ideas get a little too big for the shop. My daughter, Ray, helps with photography, videography, and cooking too. My taste testers? Well that's my boys, Roman and Rigby. Around here, it really is a team effort.

I have a deep love for cooking outdoors. That love includes an ever-growing Weber grill collection that Jeni has graciously made room for in our home. Some folks collect tools, records, or old signs. I seem to collect grills..... and the next idea for supper.

Growing Online

When someone finds a page like this, it can feel small at first. Maybe it was one recipe. Maybe it was a photo of ribs, burgers, chicken, or something cooked over charcoal. Maybe it was a short post that made dinner feel possible.

It is humbling when people come across something we made and decide to stay a while. There are a lot of places to spend time online. So when someone stops here, reads a post, tries an idea, or shares their own cooking story, I do not take that lightly.

This page is not polished by a staff sitting around a conference table. It is built in the middle of real life. Sometimes that means smoke in our clothes, dishes stacked near the sink, sauce on the counter, and Ray trying to get the shot before everyone digs in.

That is the kind of cooking I love most. Real food. Real people. Real memories.

Outdoor cooking is better when it becomes a team sport

I enjoy the fire, the tools, and the challenge of getting a cook just right. But cooking outside becomes something special when more people are involved.

Someone brings an idea. Someone else suggests a rub, a sauce, or a side dish. One person watches the temperature. Another flips, slices, plates, or sneaks a taste when they think nobody is looking.

That back-and-forth matters. It turns a meal into an experience.

A simple cook can turn into something completely new when people start building on each other’s ideas. Maybe chicken thighs become sliders. Maybe grilled corn ends up in a salad. Maybe a basic burger gets topped with onions cooked in a cast-iron pan right next to the fire.

The grills matter...

Yes, I love Weber grills. I love the way a kettle grill can do so many things. I love the steady rhythm of charcoal, vents, smoke, and patience. I love learning how each grill behaves, what it does best, and how one small adjustment can change the whole cook.

If you enjoy outdoor cooking, you know the feeling. There is something satisfying about lighting the charcoal, setting up the grill, and knowing dinner is going to take a little time.

That patience is part of the reward.

Still, the best part is not the collection. It is what the collection makes possible. A grill gives people a reason to gather in the yard, pull up a chair, talk while the food cooks, and stay longer than they planned.

Cooking with others keeps the journey fresh

One reason I love cooking outdoors is that I am always learning.

Every cook has a lesson hidden in it. Sometimes the lesson is about heat control. Sometimes it is about timing. Sometimes it is about knowing when to leave the lid closed and stop messing with the food.

Cooking with other people adds even more lessons.

I have met so many amazing people through this journey. Some are backyard cooks. Some are grill collectors. Some are just hungry friends who know how to show up at the right time. Each one brings something different to the table.

That is how new ideas and relationships happen.

A conversation can lead to a new marinade. A comment can inspire a better way to slice or serve something. A shared meal can turn into a recipe that gets cooked again and again.

The best cooks are the ones that leave you already thinking about the next one.

What you can expect here

This page will keep growing the same way a good meal does, one cook at a time.

You will find outdoor cooking ideas, family moments, grill projects, recipes, photos, videos, and plenty of lessons learned along the way. Some cooks will be simple. Some will take more time. Some will come out exactly as planned, and some will teach us what to do differently next time.

That is part of the fun.

We are here to share what we make, what we learn, and what happens when family, friends, smoke, fire, and food all come together.

Thanks for being part of the journey

From my family to yours, I mean it when I say we are glad you are here. This page exists because cooking is better when it is shared, talked about, photographed, tasted, adjusted, and enjoyed with people who care.

There is always another fire to light, another idea to try, and another meal worth sharing. So stay a while, there's always room for one more at the table.
